These ultra-slick stainless cables deliver the ultimate low-friction performance. Jagwire offers two options: An ultra-slick polymer-coated cable for use in our Elite Sealed Systems with continuous housing/liners, or a highly polished, uncoated cable that can be used with any housing and lubricant. These Elite level cables deliver incredibly accurate, smooth performance.
STS-LF - pre-stretched, slick stainless steel spiral-bound cables with an ultra-slick polymer coating designed for use in Jagwire Sealed Kits
STS-EL - pre-stretched, highly polished, uncoated slick stainless steel spiral-bound cables
Slick stainless cables undergo a polishing process to further remove imperfections. This creates a smoother surface with lower friction than PTFE-coated cables. With no coating, these are highly durable and compatible with all performance housings and lubricants. Typically used on high-end bikes, by riders wanting improved performance. Gold tint is applied for easy identification.
STS-PS - pre-stretched, polished, slick stainless steel spiral-bound cables
Spiral-bound stainless cables undergo a polishing process to remove imperfections, and the 0.8mm diameter improves flexibility and further reduces friction. With no coating to wear off, these cables provide long-lasting performance. STR-PS cables are designed for use only with dropper seatposts and remote levers. Gold tint is applied for easy identification.
STR-PS - Polished stainless steel spiral-bound cables
An upgrade from basic cables, these galvanized and stainless steel strands are pre-stretched, then extruded through a die that removes the rough edges resulting in a smooth surface that reduces friction along the length of the cable. These cables are the most popular choice for riders balancing performance, durability and cost. The stainless steel option offers greater resistance to corrosion.
GAS - pre-stretched, slick galvanized steel spiral-bound cables
STS - pre-stretched, slick stainless steel spiral-bound cables
Low-cost, no-nonsense shift and brake cables made from spiral-bound galvanized or stainless steel strands. While both are great for entry-level, low-cost bike repairs, the stainless steel offers greater resistance to corrosion.
GAR - galvanized steel spiral-bound cables
STR - stainless steel spiral-bound cables
